Artist Eleanor Brownridge has chosen glass as her medium because it is so dynamic – always changing as reflected and transmitted light play with the colours and textures.
The sun moves across the sky and her translucent sculptures and window hangings are transformed. Room lights and candles bounce across the opaque glass plates, bowls and masks.
Known for her custom-designed stained glass windows that adorn homes and public buildings throughout southern Ontario, Eleanor now fuses and shapes brightly-coloured glass in a kiln to create both decorative and functional art pieces.
