Sinfonia Toronto's Chamber Orchestra performs its seven Masterpiece Series concerts in Glenn Gould Studio (250 Front Street, West). The orchestra travels to other Ontario centres, broadcasts on CBC and performs a number of community outreach concerts.

Sinfonia Toronto’s strings perform standing, in the tradition of great chamber orchestras, blending each musician’s soloistic energy into a brilliant ensemble under music director Nurhan Arman. A roster of winds and percussion joins the strings for programs drawn from the chamber orchestra repertoire.

Soloists for 2009-2010 include pianists Heather Schmidt, Antonio Di Cristofano, Angela Park, Yuval Fichman and Sangwook Park; violinists Lara St. John, Ani Batikian, Hyuk-Joo Kwun and Xiaohan Guo; cellist Shauna Rolston and one of the world’s foremost percussionists Filippo Lattanzi. The orchestra will perform in Barrie, Welland and Kingston.

Sinfonia Toronto has been acclaimed by critics. “A World Class Ensemble” was the headline of Germany’s Russelheimer Echo. The Toronto Star writes of “a remarkable range of colour,” “ample eloquence” and “gripping authority,” while La Scena Musicale declared, “Nurhan Arman and his orchestra literally conquered us.”
